"Some believe in Heaven and Hell, some even believe in Purgatory or Limbo, but in truth, there is only THRESHOLD."

THRESHOLD is a VERY SLOW 2D psychological horror exploration maze game heavily inspired by The Broken Script. Explore a monochrome and seemingly endless labyrinth known as the THRESHOLD, a state in an afterlife where heaven, hell, purgatory and limbo never existed. Wander, wander and wander, avoiding familiar but distant entities that will try lure you in, or chase you to death.

As you explore, uses items to sustain yourself, vitamins, water, and a flashlight, it's all you'll find. The objective is to find the exit everyone was offered when they reached THRESHOLD, and plea with God to be set free. But no one has reached the exit, no knows if the exit even exists. You'll have to be the first.

There are several random events that can happen while you explore, which include, but are not limited to: music will play, you'll take 1 damage, white noise will flash on the screen, you'll stop cold on your tracks, walls will disappear, etc.

SIDE NOTE: If the screen went fully black, it most likely means you died, not that the game crashed. It's supposed to close the game when you die but I'm not sure if the code worked.

Made for B1T JAM 3, under the theme "Offering".

I really like the glitchy sounds you used for the entities. I got a couple good jump scares from them. Also cool atmosphere, I liked the way the walls kinda look 3d (reminiscent of Teleglitch)

Would be nice if the resources were sort of a clue as to which direction to go.

Also, I have no idea if I won or lost, lol. The screen went fully black after about five minutes when I encountered a particularly familiar looking entity and was sucked on top of it.

I definitely recommend checking out the cutscene before you play!

Thank you!

That's weird tho, Familiar doesn't really kill you or deal any damage. But if the screen went black then it means you died.
